Como otra de las sorpresas para nuestros socios con motivo del Sexagésimo Quinto Aniversario de Fundación, el Club Militar trae al Salón Dorado, a partir de este martes 15 y hasta el domingo 20, una muestra del Museo de las Fuerzas Militares que incluye cerca de 50 piezas especialmente seleccionadas. Artículos originales, réplicas a escala de aviones y barcos, uniformes antiguos, banderas, armas utilizadas a lo largo de la historia de nuestro país, e incluso la presencia de miembros de las Fuerzas Militares que participaron en la Guerra de Corea y contarán sus historias, forman parte de esta muestra que convierte al Club Militar en una extensión del Museo. Entre las piezas que se exhibirán en la Sede Principal del Club Militar se encuentran dos ametralladoras Thompson originales, un fusil mosquetón, una ametralladora Gatling, un uniforme antiguo de oficial naval, así como un overol de vuelo con su respectivo gorro, explicó el sargento segundo del Cuerpo de Infantería de Marina, Lácides Macdaniels Sarmiento, uno de los tres suboficiales a cargo de la muestra. Según Macdaniels, un aspecto a destacar será la representación de la Guerra de Corea, que contará con la asistencia de un Sargento Mayor veterano y la exhibición de un lanzallamas, utilizado por nuestras tropas en esa contienda, la última en la que se empleó ese tipo de arma. La exhibición, que estará abierta entre las 11 de la mañana y las cuatro de la tarde, contará con el apoyo de cuatro soldados que apoyarán a los visitantes con sus conocimientos sobre los distintos aspectos y características de la muestra.
